USC Drops to No. 18 in AP Poll

The Trojans head out of the bye week in good standing.

Big stretch of games loom for USC's Pac-12 chances.

The Trojans had the week off, giving assistant coaches the chance to recruit across Los Angeles and beyond, but plenty of great Pac-12 games unfolded in the wee hours of the night. Led by No. 2 Oregon, who survived an upset bid by Washington State up in Pullman, the Pac-12 landed five teams inside the top-18 overall rankings.

The Pac-12 South, led by the three-headed monster of UCLA, ASU and USC (down one spot from last week) all rest in good standing as the heart of Pac-12 play really gets rolling in the weeks to come. The Bruins and Sun Devils will headline next week's action with a ranked matchup of division favorites on Thursday night.

USC hosts Oregon State, who beat San Diego State 28-7 in Reser Stadium while the 4-0 Arizona Wildcats head up to Eugene, Oregon for a revenge meeting with the Oregon Ducks. Time for the Pac-12 to really drive you crazy with all these close games pitting teams of very equal talent across the board.
