Kenny Bigelow injury: USC d-lineman to miss season w/ torn ACL

Trojan defensive lineman Kenny Bigelow is set to miss the 2014 season with a torn ACL.

USC suffered a pretty sizable loss on Tuesday when the athletic department announced via Twitter that freshman defensive lineman Kenny Bigelow would be missing the entire 2014 season with a torn ACL in his right knee. The injury occurred during voluntary player workouts, and leaves a hole on the defensive line as Bigelow was projected to start this season as a redshirt freshman. Bigelow was expected to replace George Uko, who left the Trojans early for the NFL.

The 6'3, 300-pound interior lineman had high expectations for the upcoming season, but will have to watch from the sidelines with the unfortunate injury. Bigelow committed to USC as a part of the 2013 recruiting class and redshirted last season in preparation for this one. With depth being an issue, the former five-star will most likely be replaced with Claude Pelon, a JUCO prospect that was a part of the class of 2014. Pelon comes in as a redshirt junior and just finished an extremely productive Spring Football under defensive line coach Chris Wilson.

Bigelow will no doubt be preparing himself for rehabilitation as to try and bounce back from this tough injury:
