Grimble decided to forgo his final season at USC despite an underwhelming junior year, in part due to injuries that plagued him from the very beginning. He possesses the size and athleticism to play at the next level, but where he will be selected - if at all - remains to be seen.
COLLEGE SUMMARY
Grimble ultimately ended up redshirting his freshman year at USC despite appearing in the team's first three games. During the next two seasons, Grimble appeared in all 25 games, splitting time with or playing alongside Randall Telfer. He was an All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention in 2012, his best season statistically as a Trojan.
During his final season at USC, the Nevada native battled injuries, starting first with a rib injury during spring practice, then a shoulder injury suffered at Arizona in early October. As such, his production dropped and Grimble failed to build upon his strong 2012 campaign.

DRAFT PROJECTIONS
CBSSports.com's Rob Rang on Grimble:
COMPARES TO: Kellen Davis, Seattle Seahawks - Like the well-built (and well-traveled) Davis, Grimble looks better walking off the bus than he does on tape. He possesses good enough hands and overall athleticism to serve as a short to intermediate threat, especially in the red zone (11 career touchdowns) and has the frame and strength scouts are looking for as a run blocker. He can play the role of a traditional security blanket tight end but a new-age hybrid seam threat, he is not.
