USC Football Recruiting: Fred Warner, Michiah Quick Declare Elsewhere

Some of the biggest names left on the chopping block have decided against USC.

USC football has one scholarship remaining for 2014 recruiting class following the nationally televised commitments of Damien Mama and Adoree' Jackson.

We also know neither Fred Warner nor Michiah Quick will be filling that final void after announcing they planned to sign with other institutions. In what will ultimately now come down to John "JuJu" Smith or bust, the Trojans have lost two of their top targets for the 19th, and final football scholarship available in this recruiting class.

Fred Warner, the nation's No. 26 OLB prospect, according to the 247sports' composite rankings, has signed his letter of intent to play football for BYU.

Warner verbally committed to BYU last April, but recently spent some timelooking around at other schools, specifically USC and Arizona State. Today, however, the Mission Hills HS (San Marcos, Calif.) made it official signing his National Letter of Intent with BYU to play football in Provo, Utah.

Here are some Fred Warner highlights in what could have been a major boost to USC's linebacking corp.

Michiah Quick, the nation's No. 7 athlete prospect, according to the 247sports' composite rankings, signed his letter of intent to play football for Oklahoma.

The Tri-River Athletic Conference Co-Player of the Year set school single-season (71) and career (153) reception records for Central East HS in Fresno, Calif. Quick averaged 35.5 yards on kickoff returns with three going to the house. He also averaged 17.7 yards in punt returns during the 2013 season.

Quick took a last official visit with USC back on January 17th, eventually narrowed his choices down to USC, Alabama, Notre Dame and Bob Stoops' Oklahoma program. Michiah Quick made his initial commitment to Oklahoma at the Army All-American Bowl following Oklahoma's dominant performance over Alabama in the Sugar Bowl.

You can see Quick's playmaking abilities in the highlights here:

Quick Note: We also heard that 2-star OL Bobby Johnson will hold his commitment to Fresno State, and will now actually face the Trojans in the first game of the regular season.
