USC Lacrosse Season Preview

Don't count out these talented non-revenue players.

The Women of Troy are coming off quite the inaugural season with an unexpected trip to the MPSF Tournament, and should be even more exciting this time around with some experience under their belts.

After finishing last season 8-10 (5-3 in MPSF play), USC welcome one of the top ten recruiting classes in the nation, who are looking forward to piecing together their rigorous effort from the lengthy offseason towards regular season success starting this afternoon over at nearby McAlister Field.

"In sports, it's really easy to write down a goal," says coach Lindsey Munday, who was named 2013 Lacrosse Magazine Person of the Year as USC's head coach and for her efforts as the captain for Team USA. I mean come on, how could you not want to work your tail off for such a cool and charismatic head coach.

"But as a team, what's most important is how we're going to achieve goals. We're going to focus on living out what it means to be a USC lacrosse player every single day, focusing on the process and not the outcome and controlling our efforts and attitudes."

The Trojans field a team of 37 players, including 13 true freshmen that could make an immediate impact on the field. USC played without a senior last season and has just two this year in two-sport star Elizabeth Eddy, who was drafted to play in the National Women's Soccer League, along with Ceilidh Meagher.
