USC had the weekend off, but the Trojans still had a chance to gain ground when eight teams in the top 25 dropped games on Saturday. While they received 29 points in the Amway CoachesTop 25 Poll, the Trojans still didn't crack the top 25, sitting four spots outside of the top 25.
Being idle usually doesn't help in the polls and that was the case for the Trojans, who actually lost two points in the Coaches Poll.
There are four Pac-12 teams in the top 25 after Uta fell out after losing at home to Oregon. The Ducks dominated the Utes on the scoreboard thanks to Kaelin Clay's huge mistake. They moved up to No. 4 after Auburn dropped to No. 9 following its upset loss to Texas A&M.
Arizona State made a huge national statement with a beatdown of Notre Dame, 55-31, and moved up four spots to No. 8. The Irish fell eight spots to No. 16. Arizona and UCLA both gained three spots with easy wins over Colorado and Washington. The Bruins moved up from No. 18 to No. 15 while Arizona jumped up to No. 18.
USC is however ranked in the computer composite rankings, coming in at No. 24. Here is the complete Coaches Poll and a composite of the computer rankings, via Massey:
