USC's 44-17 victory at Washington State on Saturday wasn't enough to push the Trojans back onto Vegas betting boards for the national championship. The Trojans are now 6-3 overall, but at 5-2 in Pac-12 play with losses to Arizona State and Utah, they need some serious help to potentially win the Pac-12 South division.
If USC was to somehow slip into the Pac-12 Championship game, it would meet No. 5 Oregon barring an unforseeable collapse by the Ducks. Those same Ducks are now the Vegas favorites to win the national championship.
Oregon saw its odds continue to rise after beating down previous nemesis Stanford on Saturday. The Ducks jumped from 7/1 to 9/2 leapfrogging Alabama, who held steady at 5/1. UCLA is still alive for a potential run at the Pac-12 South following its 17-7 win over Arizona, but the Bruins saw their odds dip from 75/1 to 100/1. Arizona was taken off the board following its loss. The same thing happened to Utah after it lost to Arizona State in overtime.
As the Pac-12 South frontrunners, the Arizona State Sun Devils saw their odds grow from 75/1 to 28/1 after beating the Utes. ASU is now one of the top 10 teams, according to the Vegas odds.USC's cross-country rival, Notre Dame, rose from 18/1 to 16/1 following a win over Navy.
Oregon is also leading the way in the Heisman Trophy odds with Marcus Mariota pulling away as the favorite. After a four-touchdown performance against Stanford, his odds moved up from 4/5 to 1/2 while Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott dipped to 4/1.
USC running back Buck Allen rushed for more than 100 yards for the sixth game in a row thanks to Steve Sarkisian leaving him in the game late, but Allen did not get back on the Heisman board. He remains the only player in the country with 100+ yards from scrimmage in every game this season, but his Heisman Trophy odds haven't sprung back.
The Heisman Trophy odds currently on the Bovada (www.Bovada.lv, Twitter: @BovadaLV) now only has 11 players remaining. Here are the latest odds courtesy of Bovada (second number is current line, first number is last week's line):
