Don't miss a thing in college football this weekend. With the Crosstown Showdown between the UCLA Bruins/USC Trojans being played in primetime, you have an opportunity to check out a bunch of other action across the nation all weekend.
Here's the best games to catch on Thursday, Friday and each of the main Saturday time slots:
Thursday night: No. 12 Kansas State at West Virginia
Both of these teams have had a week and a half to simmer on a blowout loss after KState lost 41-20 to TCU and West Virginia was beat up by Texas, 33-16. They are definitely going to be ready to get back on the field to hit someone and take out their frustrations. A win could turn this back into a potentially successful season for the Mountaineers. Otherwise, they'll need a win over Iowa State just to be bowl eligible.
Friday night: Air Force at San Diego State
With a win, Air Force will remain in the race for the Mountain West Mountain division title, sitting a game behind of Colorado State with a matchup next weekend. If San Diego State can pull off the upset, the Aztecs will be at least tied for the weaker West division.
Saturday morning: Washington State at No. 13 Arizona State
It is unlikely, but a Cougars' win at No. 13 ASU would all but put the winner of the USC/UCLA game into the Pac-12 Championship against Oregon. Washington State has given some teams a run for their money, but the Sun Devils getting upset back-to-back weekends? Not probable. After that one gets out of hand, check out a Big 10 top 25 matchup between Minnesota and Nebraska. Both are coming off losses. Minnesota runnning back David Cobb must be salivating after seeing what Melvin Gordon did to Nebraska last week.
Saturday early-afternoon: No. 15 Arizona at No. 17 Utah
Yet another Pac-12 South battle between ranked teams. The Trojans need Arizona win for the potential three-team tiebreaker to potentially come into effect. If USC, Arizona and ASU all win this week and Arizona beats ASU next week, there could be a three-team tie for first in the South. Expect it to be a tight game since that's all that Utah plays anyways. Also keep an eye on Boston College/Florida State. The Eagles beat USC and gave FSU fits last season before the Seminoles were able to come back late.
Saturday late-afternoon: No. 19 USC at No. 9 UCLA
Crosstown Showdown. 'Nuff said.
Saturday evening: Oregon State at Washington
I would tell you to check out Hawai'i receiver/punt returner/punter Scott Harding against UNLV, but it doesn't appear to be on national television, so check out the Pac-12 North cellar dwellers try to get out of the basement.
