Sitting at 6-3 overall and 4-2 in Pac-12 play, the USC Trojans still haven't been able to crack the College Football Playoff selection committee's top 25 ranking. In the third week the CFB selection committee has ranked its top 25, USC still hasn't made an appearance, but five Pac-12 teams did make the rankings.
Oregon leads the way for the West Coast. The Ducks jumped up to No. 2 after another dominant victory, winning 51-27 at Utah while previous No. 3 Auburn lost to Texas A&M. The Ducks also jumped Florida State, who fell to No. 3 while TCU takes over as the No. 4 team. Oregon has two games that should be easy money to end the regular season before taking on the Pac-12 South champion in Levi Stadium. Win out and the Ducks are easily in.
Arizona State's destruction of previous No. 10 Notre Dame pushed them up to No. 6. The Sun Devils have to win three more games, including knocking off Oregon in the Pac-12 Championship and they will be in the College Football Playoff.
The Pac-12's two-loss squads made big jumps as UCLA was bumped up to No. 11 from No. 18 and Arizona climbed from No. 19 to No. 14. Utah, on the other hand, fell from No. 17 to No. 23 after its loss to the Ducks. USC's cross-country rival, Notre Dame, only dropped from No. 10 to No. 18.
