USC still isn't on the Vegas betting boards for national championship odds. The Trojans are 6-3 overall and 5-2 in Pac-12 play, but that isn't good enough to get any odds love from Vegas, who doesn't think the Trojans can sneak into the Pac-12 championship game and then somehow sneak into the College Football Playoff.
Instead, it will likely be the Arizona State Sun Devils facing off with Oregon, who has already locked up the Pac-12 North title after knocking off Utah on Saturday night.
The Ducks saw their national championship odds increase in Vegas, but after leapfrogging Alabama last week, they are now tied with Alabama, who also saw their odds increase to 4/1. No. 1 Mississippi State saw its odds dip to 15/2, which is only fifth best behind Florida State and TCU at 6/1.
UCLA is still alive in the Pac-12 South and knocked off Washington 44-30, but the Bruins' odds held at 100/1, which continues to be the lowest odds on the board. Notre Dame was taken off the board following its blowout loss to Arizona State while the Sun Devils only saw their odds increase from 28/1 to 25/1.
But the biggest takeaway from this week's update of the college football odds is that Marcus Mariota is now dominating the Heisman Trophy odds. After another four-touchdown performance (239 passing yards, 3 TD; 114 rushing yards, 1 TD), Mariota's odds are now an overwhelming 1/5.
Everyone else on the Heisman odds list dropped with the exception of Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett and TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin. Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott is second but dipped for the second week in a row. His odds are now down to 13/2.
USC running back Buck Allen did receive a notification from the Heisman Trophy Trust that he is being considered as a potential candidate for the award, but he's still not on the Bovada (www.Bovada.lv, Twitter: @BovadaLV) board, which now only has 10 players.
