Cody Kessler Named Walter Camp National Player of Week

USC quarterback threw for a school-record seven touchdowns.

Cody Kessler earned the first of possibly several awards this week when he was named the Walter Camp National FBS Player of the Week after his seven passing touchdowns.

Kessler set the USC school record and tied the Pac-12 conference record. Of course, he was still a ways away from matching the national record set by Houston's David Klingler in 1990. Klingler threw for 11 touchdowns that day.

On Saturday, USC redshirt junior Cody Kessler finished 19-for-26 for 319 yards. He found Nelson Agholor for three touchdowns, Bryce Dixon for two and freshmen JuJu Smith and Steven Mitchell for their first career scores.
