All the Andy Enfield news has kind of put football on the back burner.
It would appear that freshman RB Justin Davis is turning some heads.
The true freshman running back continues to impress coaches and teammates and take advantage of injuries ahead of him on the depth chart. In Saturday’s scrimmage, the Stockton, Calif., native ran 17 times for 116 yards and a touchdown. With Silas Redd and D.J. Morgan out after suffering injuries this spring, Davis has not only created an opportunity playing time, he could find himself in the starting lineup.
When a player goes down someone needs to step up...Davis is doing that.
I am not ready to give Davis the starting job just yet, not with all injuries the has right now, but having a serviceable running back is important.
Once Fall camp starts then its on.
