Silas Redd to miss the rest of Spring Ball

Rich Barnes-US PRESSWIRE

Silas Redd tore his meniscus and will miss the rest of Spring Practice.

USC is, as Coach Lane Kiffin said Saturday, ``paying the price for being physical'' in spring football practice. Silas Redd, the Trojans' presumed 2013 starter at tailback, got stuck with the biggest bill.

Redd is scheduled to undergo surgery on Tuesday to repair a torn meniscus and will be out for the final three weeks of spring practice. Kiffin said he expects Redd, who rushed for 905 yards and nine touchdowns last season, to be ready for the start of training camp in August. Redd hurt his knee in Thursday's practice.

Well, you have to be physical if you want to get better. I am not getting Kiffin's little dig at the beginning of the article.

Redd missing spring ball is a minor to me. I am not happy that Redd was injured, but it's not like he doesn't know the play book and it's not like he won't be ready for Fall Camp...that is all that matters.

Wittek and Lee also missed some time yesterday due to minor knee issues.
