The Trojans and the Fighting Irish are stuck at 7-7 following a Tommy Rees touchdown pass to Troy Niklas as time expired in the first frame.
USC had just one possession but offense looked sharp, driving 96 yards on 13 plays in just over 6 minutes, culminating in a 1-yard Silas Redd touchdown run.
Quarterback Cody Kessler was 4-for-5 passing for 36 yards. Redd was tapped for most of the runs, getting 6 touches for 40 yards.
Receiver Marqise Lee, who missed last week's game due to an injury, is active but did not get a target from Kessler.
The defense was rough, though. Notre Dame gained 148 yards on two drives. The Trojan defense held the Fighting Irish on a fourth-and-1 run by Cam McDaniel, stuffing him for a 3-yard loss.
