USC punter Kyle Negrete has been selected to the 2012 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, an honor that recognizes the off the field contributions of collegiate football players.

"As fans of college football, Allstate takes great pride in partnering with the AFCA to recognize these dedicated student-athletes for their accomplishments off the field," said Kathy Mabe, president of Allstate's West regions and a member of the 2012 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team voting panel. "These players have demonstrated the unique ability to balance academics with athletics while donating their limited free time and energy to serve others, and we at Allstate commend them for their commitment to volunteerism."

Negrete was one of 22 players selected for the team. The senior has taken part in various community service trips to Haiti and Nigeria. He created "Best Buddies" while at the University of San Diego, a program for student-athletes to mentor people with autism. To this day, Negrete still maintains a close friendship with his friend, Joel, whom he started mentoring while at San Diego.

Fans will have the opportunity to vote for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team® Captain by visiting ESPN.com and searching "Good Works."
