In early October, Marqise Lee asked USC's second-year coach about playing cornerback, but the coaching staff decided against it.
Now, though, that stance might have changed, and coach Lane Kiffin could decide to play Lee on defense this weekend against Arizona State.
"We've looked at some defensive situations for the first time this week with him out there," Kiffin said. "That may present itself Saturday."
The Trojans' defensive struggles have been noted over the last two weeks. The secondary, in particular, has struggled to defend the pass, allowing a combined 673 yards through the air against Arizona and Oregon.
For the year, USC ranks 80th in the nation out of 119 FBS teams, allowing nearly 250 yards.
