I highly doubt that Matt Barkley will ever play another down at USC.
Why risk it?
I know there won't be any "official" word on Barkley's status but I know that injury, I highly doubt he could be ready to play against ND.
So, I fell comfortable in saying that Max Wittek will probably take the helm this week.
This is as good a time as any...might as well get some reps and get a feel for the speed of the game because next year is for real.
I read on one of the boards that one of the coaches at Mater Dei said that Max Wittek was better than Barkley.
Hard to know as Wittek has barely seen the field this season.
One thing is for sure, we are about to find out what potential Wittek has. The bigger question is will Kiffin open up the whole playbook?
Beating Notre Dame and dashing their hopes of going to the BCS title game will be a small consolation prize to this disappointing season, but sweet none the less. Beating the Irish won't salvage the season...not with the high expectations that opened the season but it could give us a snapshot of what the future will be post Matt Barkley.
