Marqise Lee Named Semifinalist for Biletnikoff Award

Lee has totaled 663 receiving yards in the last three games, the most ever over three games in USC history.

As a freshman, Marqise Lee recorded 73 receptions, 1,143 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns. Naturally, those kind of stats would be enough grab the attention of most people.

Despite his performance, Lee was left off the Biletnikoff Award watch list released in mid-July. He was added a day after the release, though.

"The Foundation includes an exclusive group of receivers on the Biletnikoff Award Preseason Watch List," foundation selection chairman Ritchie Pickron said in a statement released Wednesday. "It is apparent, upon further consideration, that Marqise Lee should be on the watch list. Accordingly, he has been added today."

The semifinalists for the award have been announced and Lee is one of 10 semifinalists for the award. The sophomore currently leads the nation in receptions (98) and receiving yards (1,447), ranks second in all-purpose yards (2,234) and third in total touchdowns (13).

The vote for the three Biletnikoff Award Finalists by the National Selection Committee will open on November 14th and close on November 18th. The three Finalists will be announced on Monday, November 19th. The Biletnikoff Award winner will be announced live on ESPN’s The Home Depot College Football Awards Show on December 6, 2012.
