After all the hype...and some disappointment, Joe McKnight is progressing nicely in the NFL.

The best thing for Joe was to leave last season.

It was time...

McKnight, a fourth-round draft pick from Southern California, rushed for 158 yards, by far a career high, in the team’s regular-season finale Sunday against Buffalo, but he did not look at the game as a happy ending to what has been an inconsistent season for him.

"I don’t feel like I’ve gotten completely over it," he said. "It was just one game."

McKnight knows he got to carry the ball 32 times against the Bills because the Jets wanted to rest LaDainian Tomlinson and Shonn Greene, who will get most, if not all, of the carries in Saturday’s playoff game. McKnight will return to special-teams duty.

McKnight has went through a lot in the past 12 months.

Whether its was the Range Rover controversy (which we never heard about again) that lead to his being kept out of USC's Bowl game in 2009 or his rocky start with the Jets McKnight just seemed to plod along.

It's clear from reading this piece that McKnight has the right attitude and will continue to work at increasing his stock.

I don't think anyone who roots for USC thought he wouldn't be a good player but the circumstances of his situation always seemed to get in the way.

It doesn't matter now...McKnight has made the transition and is now making progress!

Good for him!
