In a move that will help linebacker Jordan Campbell's football career, Campbell has decided to transfer from USC and is seeking to join Chris Petersen and the Boise State Broncos, according to SCplaybook.com's Scott Schrader.
USC LB Jordan Campbell has put in for his transfer, according to SCPlaybook's Scott Schrader. Campbell said Boise St is likely destination.
Campbell played at the weakside linebacker position and logged in nine tackles with a 0.5 tackles for loss in 2009. Entering his junior year, Campbell would've competed against Malcolm Smith, Shane Horton, and Simione Vehikite for playing time this season.
After Kiffin stepped in as new head coach, Campbell could not participate with the team because of the negative points he accumulated. These points are given by ditching class and/or missing tutorial sessions. Campbell turned it around and helped his cause during the Spring and was allowed to practice with the team.
Campbell was also linked to an apparent arrest with former Trojan Everson Griffen on Nantucket Island on July 4, 2009, but the two were only cited for a noise violation.
UPDATE (7:39) - Tweets from SCPlaybook.com of quotes from Jordan Campbell:
"I already put in for my transfer," Jordan Campbell said. "I fell in love with Coach (Pete) Carroll's team and his coaching staff."
"Boise State is the school I'm leaning to the most," said Campbell.
