And the train keeps rollin'

Even with the storm brewing on the horizon USC still keeps picking off targets on the recruiting trail.

SC went from one great recruiter to a pair of great recruiters.

From the LAT...

USC administrators and fans are anxiously awaiting the NCAA's report regarding an investigation into the Trojans athletic program.

Meantime, the specter of possible NCAA sanctions does not seem to be affecting recruiting.

USC recently received verbal commitments from Santa Ana Mater Dei High receiver Victor Blackwell and Crenshaw running back defensive back De'Anthony Thomas. Mater Dei quarterback Max Wittek, Woodland Hills Taft defensive lineman Antwaun Woods and Jalen Grimble, a defensive lineman from Las Vegas Bishop Gorman, also have committed to the Trojans, according to several recruiting websites.

NCAA rules prohibit coaches from commenting about recruits until schools have received signed letters of intent. Speaking generally, USC Coach Lane Kiffin said the forthcoming NCAA decision continues to be a hot topic for schools competing against the Trojans on the recruiting front.

"It’s still out there and being brought to the attention of our recruits very often by a few schools," Kiffin said. "But I think anyone who’s following recruiting would say SC is doing just fine."

Florida and that scumbag from across town come to mind.

Now, I am not foolish enough to think that because we have some incredible talent committed that the deal is sealed. As we saw this past recruiting day things change and s**t happens but you keep fighting.

Most important, regardless of all the chatter the past couple of weeks USC is still THE big draw in LA not that fraud of a program across town. And even if SC takes a hit there isn't anything that I have seen in the past two years over there that makes me think that anything will change. Heck, Slick Rick is still the best QB on UCLA's campus...maybe he can suit up if all goes to hell.

Anyway, there is still a long way to go. The ruling has yet to be handed down and there is still a season to be played but you have to like SC's chances.
