Friday College Football: Special Open Thread

USC and Notre Dame don't square off until tomorrow at 5 p.m. PST, so in the meanwhile, there's a full slate of college football games today to keep you preoccupied with. Many of them, with national championship implications.

The Iron Bowl between No. 11 Alabama and No. 2 Auburn is not going in favor of Cam Newton and company, as the Crimson Tide presently have taken a 24-7 lead into halftime. A loss by Auburn potentially means that either No. 4 Boise State or No. 3 TCU could find their way into the national title game against No. 1 Oregon. But, both the Broncos and Ducks have their own issues to attend to. At 4 p.m. PST on ESPN, Oregon will host No. 21 Arizona, and immediately following, Boise State will travel to Reno to face No. 19 Nevada.

Many of my fellow Trojan fans, however, will be keeping an eye on Arizona State-UCLA, which is currently in the second quarter on FSN Prime Ticket (Bruins leading 17-14). USC will face UCLA next week in the Rose Bowl, but for now Neuheisel's bunch (4-6) is simply fighting for bowl eligibility.

So if you are watching the games today, share your quick takes and observations right here for our special Thanksgiving weekend open thread. Enjoy.

FIGHT ON!
