Former USC stand out Nick Young is giving back to the community...
This is something we see a lot of around the different pro leagues. They are a big hit in the community because the players return to their roots (or they plant new ones in the city play in) to provide an opportunity for those less fortunate to either improve their skills or hear about life's lessons.
Young will team with his former high school coach Andre Chevalier for the Cardinal and Gold Nick Young Flight School starting at 9 a.m. until noon today through Friday at Oaks Christian.
It is Young's first camp.
"This gives him the opportunity to get his feet wet," said Chevalier, who coached Young at Cleveland of Reseda and now leads the girls' team at OaksChristian. "He's not quite the superstar right now, but he definitely has the potential to get to that point. I think he knows how to get there. But to be able to develop his reputation and continue to do business after basketball, this gives him that opportunity."
I really haven't followed Nick Young's career in the NBA but it is clear he is in the best spot in regards to his career. With all the crap we have read about the hoops program of late it is nice to see some of our former players provide some good news and leadership in the community.
