And the hits keep coming...
What once looked like a stellar roster for the 2009/10 season is now in a shambles. After petitioning the NCAA for and receiving a sixth year of eligibility forward Marcus Johnson has changed his mind and decided to enter the NBA draft.
Johnson, a 6-foot-7 transfer from Connecticut, averaged 3.6 points in 16 games last season.
He is the fourth USC player to leave school early and turn pro since the season ended. Junior forward Taj Gibson, junior guard Daniel Hackett and freshman forward DeMar DeRozan have also declared for the NBA draft.
Intriguing to say the least.
There really inst much more to say as the action speaks for itself. I am a full believer that if someone does not want to be here that he should absolutely go. I am not going to try and figure out if this move is the right one or the best one for Johnson, that is on him. This obviously doesn't help USC in the short term but with all that is going on around the basketball program it isn't shocking at all to hear this news .I also wouldn't be surprised to see Lamont "MoMo" Jones ask to be released from his LOI just like Noel Johnson. That rumor is starting to pick up steam.
Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom before you can rebuild, that is exactly where USC is going....anyone think we are there yet?
We wish Marcus luck.
