USC - UCLA Open Thread

USC plays their third game in three months against UCLA tonight at the Staples Center, starting at 9 p.m. EDT / 6 p.m. PDT.

Never mind the rivalry, UCLA are motivated to get through the semi-finals and move on to play the winner of Stanford - Washington State, partly for conference championship reasons, and partly for tournament seeding reasons - after a slightly inconsistent end to the regular season, they are looking to lock in a #1 seeding. Winning always helps, to point out the obvious.

USC, on the other hand, is going to be looking to do a little better than in their February loss at the Galen Center. Between Mayo's shooting, the return of Mbah a Moute, and UCLA overcoming their issues on defending USC while being flummoxed by USC's triangle-two defense, that was not a game for the ages.
