SC falls to SDSU 2-1

Sounds like it was a real grinder of a game.

From the SC Website

The San Diego State Aztecs scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to earn the 2-1 victory over the USC Trojans in a nonconference game at Tony Gwynn Stadium. The Aztecs had just three hits in the game, scoring both runs off reliever Philip Urso on a balk with the bases loaded and a wild pitch.

San Diego State improved to 4-1 on the season while USC suffered its first loss, falling to 3-1.

Sophomore righty Kevin Couture (Coronado/Coronado HS) was outstanding in his first collegiate start, throwing six scoreless innings and allowing only two hits with three walks and six strikeouts.

These can be fun games to watch. Lets hope SC gets back on track when they take on former SC head coach Mike Gillespie at UC Irvine tonight.

Can you say grudge match?
