As reported yesterday freshman linebacker Chris Galippo is done for the season with a herniated disk in his back.
Form Wolf at the DN:
Galippo finished: Doctors told linebacker Chris Galippo he will require surgery for the herniated disc in his back and he will miss the rest of the season. Because he only played in the first three games, Galippo is eligible to apply for a medical redshirt and should have four years of eligibility.
"It's pretty severe. It's pushing against my nerve," said Galippo, who originally felt the pain last season in high school.
Dr. Robert Watkins will perform the operation Oct. 9 and Galippo will not be allowed to participate in any contact drills for three months. He hopes to return for spring practice.
With Galippo not having surgery until the 9th it should give me time to write up an Injury Clinic post on the back but it will take some time.
