There a quick update in the OC Register this afternoon on DE Lawrence Jackson.
Jackson had a bit of a lackluster year in 2006 and that is probably why he passed up on the NFL Draft this year so that he could go out with a bang. Like the article states that is probably a blessing in disguise.
In one regard, Jackson's junior slump could have been a blessing in disguise for the Trojans. He skipped the NFL draft and returned for his senior season. Now, he is the leader of a defense that many consider the best in the nation.
Jackson said he is feeling good and ready for a rebound year. He had arthroscopic ankle surgery the day after the Rose Bowl and, after sitting out six weeks, returned in time for spring football. Jackson said he lost about 15 pounds this summer in an effort to increase his speed for outside rushes.
"This is probably the best I"ve felt going into any camp," Jackson said. "The ankle bothered me last year, but I'm feeling 100 percent now."
I have a pretty good feeling that LoJack is going to live up to those expectations.
FIGHT ON!
