Bombing Run at Dedeaux Field

Well that's a nice way to finish out the season. I know there is one more game to go...

Stanford put up 13 runs in the 4th inning with two home runs by Stanford's Michael Taylor, including one Grand Slam, on their way to a 20-13 win.

Michael Taylor went 3-for-6 with six RBI, including two home runs (one grand slam) in a 13-run fourth inning, as the Stanford Cardinal defeated the USC Trojans, 20-13, in a Pac-10 Conference game at Dedeaux Field. The Cardinal rallied from a 6-2 deficit with the huge inning and banged out 19 hits in the game.

In the fourth, Taylor first hit a two-run homer to right which gave Stanford the 7-6 lead before hitting the grand slam later in the inning.

Designated hitter Brandon Domaracki went 3-for-6 with four RBI while catcher Brian Juhl went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI.

Both teams have identical records at 27-28 overall and 8-15 in Pac-10 play.

David Stringer (3-2) earned the win for the Cardinal with 4 2/3 innings where he allowed two runs on seven hits.

Junior Matt Cusick (Mission Viejo/Santa Margarita HS) registered his first career five-RBI game with a 2-for-3 day, including a bases-loaded triple to extend his season-high hitting streak to 14 games.

Senior Hector Estrella (Rosemead/Northview HS) went 4-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI while Anthony Vasquez was 2-for-4 with two RBI.
