#25 USC 4 -- #9 Oregon St. 1

SC evened it series with defending champs Oregon State on Friday by beating the Beavers 4-1. Junior Lucas Duda's 2nd triple of the game in the broke the game open for the Trojans as freshman Brad Boxberger (2-2) picked up the win and senior Paul Koss picked up his 12th save. The rubber game of the 3 game set is set for Saturday at 12:00.

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Junior Lucas Duda (Riverside/Arlington HS) hit his second triple of the game Friday with a two-run shot down the first base line for the go-ahead runs as the No. 25 USC Trojans defeated the No. 9 Oregon State Beavers to even the Pac-10 Conference series. USC snapped Oregon State's 12-game winning streak at home, dating back to the 2006 season.

Duda has a seven-game hitting streak for USC (19-13, 2-3), batting .500 (14-for-28) with 10 RBI.

Freshman Brad Boxberger (Tustin/Foothill HS) had another effective start for the Trojans, allowing just one run on three hits with a walk and five strikeouts. The right-hander has made six of eight starts on the road this season and is now 2-2 with a 2.13 ERA (.186 opponents' batting average). He has allowed only six earned runs in 37 innings on the road this season for a 1.46 ERA.

Senior closer Paul Koss (Orange/Orange Lutheran HS) picked up his 12th save of the season by striking out the side in the ninth to preserve the victory. Koss is 2-1 on the season with a 1.56 ERA.
