SC Falls to CS Fullerton 3-1

SC came up short last night against The Titans at Dedeaux Field.

Trojan freshman shortstop Grant Green (Anaheim Hills/Canyon HS) set a school season record with his ninth triple, lacing a three-bagger in the first. Freshman Robert Stock (Westlake Village/Agoura HS) threw 2 1/3 scoreless innings in relief for the Trojans, allowing one hit with a walk and three strikeouts. Matt Cusick went 3-for-4 at the plate as well.

Green led off the USC ninth with a single and stole second. He scored on Lucas Duda's RBI single. After J.J. Owen was hit by a pitch, an Anthony Vasquez sacrifice moved runners to second and third. Harris followed by getting Stock to pop up and inducing a game-ending groundout from Hector Estrella.

SC is really having trouble scoring runs. They are definitely getting the bat on the ball but the run production is no existent. The pitching has let us down by giving up some late leads.

The only bright spot was Green getting his 9th triple of the season to set a season record. SC hosts Washington State this weekend.
