18-11

So our tournament starts tonight against Stanford. We have played them tough and they have played us tough. We need to do exactly what we did last game play up-tempo and keep the Lopez boys at bay it really that simple. A win tonight helps us with seeding the tournament and hopefully another chance at WSU but first things first.

Stanford needs this win to secure a bid to the tourney and I don't want us to help them punch their ticket. Our recent 2 game slide is disappointing but we need to put it behind us and win some games. We need to play our game and sweat the small stuff.

This article in The LAT sums it up.

Floyd says he figures it would be hard for the NCAA tournament selection committee to exclude USC (21-10, 11-7), which swept Oregon and Arizona and finished in a tie for third place in one of the nation's strongest conferences.

The Cardinal has lost three of its last four games, with the only victory during that stretch coming against last-place Arizona State. USC isn't exactly scorching either, having been swept by the Washington schools for its first consecutive losses of the season.

"They're going to come out obviously playing hard because they feel like they need to win this one to get in, but it's a big game for us, too, because we want to go into the NCAA tournament with some wins and some confidence," Trojans sophomore forward Keith Wilkinson said.

"We don't want to go in there losing three in a row, so this is a big game for us."

Just win and move on it's that simple.

Look's like UCLA is going to close out Cal, though it's anyone's game at this point. The Bruins looked horrible in the first half but did their typical comeback in the 2nd half. They are vulnerable in the low post and they can't expect to keep drawing from the well in the hopes to pull out these sorts of games, I don't care who is on their team.

UPDATE: Scratch the above as Cal and UCLA are going into OT...WOW!

Update [2007-3-8 20:26:3 by Paragon SC]: Update #2 Cal wins 76-69 in a stunner. Lost of gnashing of teeth in Westwood right now.More on that Later. Woo Hoo!! :-)

So lets give `em hell and put this one away as early as we can. The game is not on here in NYC so it will be another night of watching on the computer.
