AO will have his game review later today but I wanted to briefly look at last night's win.

I saw a little of the game on line but I couldn't stay up to "watch" the whole thing. But in reading today's papers it appears that Coach Tim Floyd is finding some ways to get this talent to gel. With all the obvious hype of O.J. Mayo at the beginning of the season it is becoming clear that Coach Floyd has put together some pretty good talent. Injuries have hurt us as well but now you can see just how well he recruited.
After sitting on the bench for the first three games Davon Jefferson has had a hot hand and taken the pressure off of Mayo, Jefferson is also another option for Daniel Hackett use as he runs the show on the floor. We needed him last night after Taj fouled out in only 9 minutes of playing time.
From The LAT:
USC's sixth consecutive win -- and first at home -- was primarily fueled by Mayo's spectacular second half and an impressive all-around effort by freshman forward Davon Jefferson, who scored a career-high 23 points in his first start.
"My teammates are setting me up and getting me opportunities, and I'm capitalizing on it," said Jefferson, who made seven of 12 shots and had nine rebounds in 30 minutes.
It is great to see these guys come together and pick each other up.
Things don't get easier from here as SC takes on #4 Kansas on Sunday and then they head to NYC to Play Memphis on Tuesday in the Jimmy V Classic. I will be at that game at MSG. I will probably be hanging out with regular CC commenter Matthew as we will be attending a pre-game party hosted by the New York City Trojan Alumni Club.
A great win indeed, AO's game review should be a great read!
FIGHT ON!
