USC vs. The Citadel - Game Preview

When: Thursday, Nov. 15 @ 4:05 PM (PST)
Where: McAlister Field House (Charleston, South Carolina)
Watch: TrojanTV All-Access

The Citadel is coming off a 61 point loss to the other USC (South Carolina). The Bulldogs only return two players with actual game experience from last year in Demetrius Nelson (SR, F-C) and Jonathan Brick (JR, G); the rest of the team is comprised of freshmen. Yes, you read that right, the ratio of freshmen to upperclassmen is 11:2. With that in mind, I think it's obvious that exploiting the Bulldogs lack of experience will be the major key to this game. SC will need to apply pressure early, force turnovers, and try to jump out to an early lead. Last year the Bulldogs committed 22 turnovers, I expect to see similar numbers this year.

The team has had a good week of practice and the return of Daniel Hackett will bring much needed fire to this team. Daniel likely won't see many minutes, but his presence on the court should act as a spark. We might also see the debut of Davon Jefferson and Marcus Simmons if SC builds a comfortable lead; both were held out of last week's game because they still hadn't learned the plays due to missing practices from injuries. Expect another big game from OJ and a much stronger performance from the team overall.
