Same Team...Two Different Half's

SC's win last night over GWU reminded me of some of thee football games we've seen this year.

1st half sloppy, 2nd half they come roaring back.

Down 20 points at one point SC rallied in the 2nd half on the way to 74-65 win at the Wooden Classic in Anaheim. Even UCLA Legend John Wooden was impressed with SC's comeback.

SC looked terrible in the 1st half. They committed 11 turnovers shot 27% and were down at the break 29-16. It looked like they just couldn't get it going and GW was looking to run away with it early.

Kyle Austin carried the team in the second half and was aided by the great shooting of Lodrick Stewart who scored 19 of his 21 points in the 2nd half.  Austin was key in the defense of GW's leading scorer Carl Elliot. SC has not had a 20-point comeback like that since the 2000 season against BYU.

SC was also great from the line in the 2nd half going 27 of 31, which included an 11for11 run from Freshman Daniel Hackett. Taj Gibson also big night with17 rebounds, 13 in the 2nd half.

It was a great signature win for SC. Full write-ups here in both the Daily News and LA Times.
