The men's basketball team opens up practice tonight with a lot of questions and few answers. Coach Floyd has some holes to fill with the tragic death of Ryan Francis and the academic ineligibility of Gabe Pruitt. Pruitt may be back in December but it will all depend on grades.
It looks like Floyd will try freshmen Daniel Hackett and Kevin Galloway at the point guard position. It will definitely be a work in progress. With Abdoulaye N'diaye and RouSean Cromwell both coming off knee surgery he will have to take it easy as they get back into game shape. The good news is that Nick Young and Lodrick Stewart return to give the offense some firepower provided they can get their hands on the ball.
You have to give Floyd credit, he has recruited well and he has a positive attitude with all the obstacles that he has in front of him. With USC's $140 million dollar Galen Center just about open for business, yes there are a few glitches, but there is a bit of a buzz now that the Trojans have a place they can call home. Floyd will use the Galen Center as a tool to lure potential recruits to SC.
You have to start somewhere and this is as good as any other.
