Make up your mind
There is an interesting, albeit brief, take on John David Booty and how he being viewed by the experts in the NFL.
From Brian Grummell at the Fan House:
Pro Football Weekly's 2008 NFL Draft Guide
Bonus Moment of Contradiction
Keeps his poise under pressure and does not pull the ball down to run.
Two sentences later:
Shows little awareness for pressure and can be rattled.
Both takes are correct depending on the day that you watch him. Booty will probably have end up as a back-up somewhere in the NFL, make a few bucks for a few years and then move on. He will have the memories of a great career at SC.
More interesting is how some of the experts can't decide what their take is so god only knows what they are really thinking.
Anyway, just thought I would throw it out while we go through a slow news cycle during this time of year. I will have an NFL Draft open thread up on Saturday to keep an eye on where our players end up in the draft.

2 Rose Bowls?
I wish JDB all the best of luck in the NFL. Here's hoping his quality attributes as a pocket passer get better utilized.
Viva Sanchez! (or Mustain, or Corp?)

Carson Palmer
Carson Palmer's W-L record as a starter
1998 3-2 (Sun Bowl Loss to TCU)
1999 2-1 (3OT loss to Oregon, Broken collarbone)
2000 5-7 (bye bye Paul Hackett)
2001 6-6 (Pete Carroll 1st year)
2002 10-2 (Heisman Trophy, Orange Bowl Victory, shared PAC 10 Title)
Total Record: 26-18 Win Percentage: 59.09%
John David Booty's W-L record as a starter
2006 11-2 (Shared Pac-10 title, Rose Bowl Victory)
2007 8-1 (Shared Pac-10 title, Rose Bowl Victory)
Total Record: 19-3 Win Percentage: 86.36%
Yes Carson was a better QB, but a lot of people don't like to talk about his 1998-2001 campaigns. In terms of overall career, Palmer had an amazing single season, but Booty's career was better.

Details and minutia
I won't argue with you frak, but c'mon! Booty was decent and a quality student/athlete. Top notch QB? I think the professionals know a little more about this one then the both of us combined. No matter how much CFB masturbation we do with facts.

JDB went to the perfect team today!
With him going to Minnesota, he has a chance to move right up the depth chart. Their current starting QB is prone to too many mistakes and isn't cerebral enough for the pro level. John David's cerebral enough to pick up the nuances of the pro game. When he gets his feet wet in game situations coupled with the way the NFL plays disciplined defense, I think he has the potential to do many good things. He's going from WestCoast to WestCoast.
We couldn't have asked for him to be drafted by a better team to utilize his strengths in the coming years. (I just hope he's not thrust into game situations too soon)
btw: personally, I think he's better than most all the other QB's that went before him. Ryan sure is good though. did you see how far down Dixon, Ainge, Flynn and Woodson went? some of the players in Sundays rounds went way farther down than I expected. i cringed to see how early MeSean went though! can't stand that punk-ass punk.
