No time for an in depth look at the Sun Devils as I will have a house full of people over for a birthday party. Davon Jefferson is slightly injured but is expected to play.

After USC's 70-58 victory over Arizona Thursday in Tucson, the Trojans' first order of business on Friday was the usual: checking out an injury.

This time it was freshman forward Davon Jefferson, who came down awkwardly after trying to block a shot. He left the game briefly, but later returned.

Jefferson did not run at Friday's practice and was taken for precautionary X-rays on his left leg.

The results were negative, a USC spokesman said, and Jefferson is expected to be available today against Arizona State in Tempe.

So, once again SC needs a win. We may be in the tournament but we needn't take any chances. I won't be on for the thread today so feel free to participate as you see fit.

Shades of the Huskies game last season

Dangerous to compare football to basketball, but considering that both Pendergraph (21 points) and Harden (24 points) made nearly half their total from free throws - 34 points overall for ASU from free throws, it's not entirely inappropriate.

If you hand over nearly half of the opposition's points, you can hardly fail to be surprised when you lose.

Still, at least Floyd didn't get ejected, right?

I was genuinely surprised that when Mayo came within a point of tying the record for scoring by a freshman in a Pac 10 game, the record was held by another USC player - I would have expected it to be from a ucla player, which turned out to be for most points by a freshman ever.
