From Varsity Times Insider:
Story opened plenty of eyes during his sophomore and junior seasons for Artesia and it appeared as if the Trojans had a keeper on their hands. Then things quickly fell apart. He transferred to Mouth of Wilson (Va.) Oak Hill Academy, left for undisclosed reason, and ultimately figured USC was no longer the place for him. End of Story.

Neuheisel's take on the players going over the wall...
The good news is that there was solidarity. They were together on it. It was also good news that the coaches were disappointed. Everyone was on the same page, on both sides.

USC sophomore guard Ryan Wetherell is recovering at home in Calgary, Canada, after undergoing surgery last month for a life-threatening condition in his neck.
The 5-foot-11 walk-on was struggling to breathe after an abscess in his neck placed pressure on an artery in his throat and caused his chest to swell. He was given antibiotics and underwent surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles to have the abscess removed.

Who hurt himself the worst? Most likely Davon Jefferson. He came here out of shape, and has barely been hustling at all for the past two days. Although he was able to use his freakish athleticism to make some plays on the glass and in transition, NBA types can't be crazy about what they are seeing here. He needs to realize the urgency of the situation quickly if he wants to avoid destroying what otherwise might be a very promising future. At this point it looks very obvious that the 21-year old freshman is not ready to be in this draft, and definitely made a hasty decision hiring an agent.
WEll the tide turned quick didn't it. Maybe Davon's gamble won't pay off...what a shame.
I heard today that Tom Hansen the Pac Ten Commissioner was retiring and that Dan White the Notre Dame AD, and Dan Bebee the current Big Twelve Commissioner were the two top choices at this time to replace him.
I always liked the fact that Hansen was a Husky, but the glow on that Rose faded over a decade ago, he is more of a dinosaur than a Husky.
I saw this last week while I was away, surprised nobody else did. If true this could change things. From Washington Husky Sports
It's always something for former USC freshman Davon Jefferson, who is hanging on to a first round NBA draft spot at No. 26, according to www.NBAdraft.net, which lists him as one of the "three most intriguing'' prospects at the league's Predraft Camp this week in Orlando.
From Dan Weber at the Press Enterprise. I sure hope the gamble pays off!
