I was one of skeptics. I was pretty sure this hire wouldn't work in the long run, and 100 percent certain it wouldn't work this season. Hell, USC could've hired Tom Izzo and put Rick Pitino, Roy Williams and Jim Boeheim on his bench as assistants, and I would not have predicted anything but losses this season, given the situation USC's new coach was inheriting from Tim Floyd, who resigned in June after it was alleged that he gave cash to O.J. Mayo's handler.

Ricky Ervins - One of my Favorites!

I did not get to see Ricky Ervins play much when he was at USC. Living on the east coast the only SC games I got to see were the bowl games or the ND game. West coast CFB always played second...

USC owns L.A. after Hawaii win - NY Daily News

Heh...Made me chuckle. The question is how long will it last?

It's no joke to say that Gerrity could be the single biggest midseason addition to any team this season -- and the reason his team is in contention for a conference title. Gerrity is no star. He's not going to be an NBA player. He's not going to shock you with his speed or athleticism. But he knows the game, can get the ball where it needs to be, knows when to take the midrange shot, the perimeter shot or penetrate to score. The facts are hard to dispute. USC hasn't lost since the two-time transfer (Pepperdine and Charlotte) became eligible. In the four games he's played for the Trojans, they've beaten Tennessee at home and then went to Hawaii and won the Diamond Head Classic with wins over Western Michigan, Saint Mary's and UNLV. He's already the team's leading scorer, averaging 14.8 points, 4.3 assists, 3.5 rebounds and a steal per game while shooting 57.1 percent on 3s. He has 17 assists and 10 turnovers through his first four games.

Some interesting Fun Facts on USC's 2009 season

I took these all from RipsIt... With Saturday's Emerald Bowl win over Boston College, the Trojans have now won 16 consecutive nonconference games. The Trojans flew a whopping 13,080 roundtrip...

Closing the book on Emerald Bowl

I am not sure what peoples expectations were for this game. I said if SC came out fired up that they should win this game. If they came out disinterested it would be close. I am pretty sure that...

USC Hoops Recruit Has a Career Game

Point guard Maurice Jones, who signed with USC earlier this year, scored 49 points and totaled 11 assists against the defending Class A state champion Detroit Pershing yesterday. He may only be 5'7", but as evident by this game, it's clear he has some ability.
