The Women of Troy (21-12) shot 49.2 percent from the field as they defeated the Nevada Wolf Pack, 78-59, to advance to the Sweet 16 of the WNIT.

"We just came out and we were all on point," said junior guard Ashley Corral. "We didn’t have any mistakes, we were all playing together, we hustled after loose balls … we all came out with the same mentality today, and we just put it all together."

Senior guard Jacki Gemelos led the charge with an all-around game, tallying 20 points, six assists, six rebounds and two steals.

The USC women's basketball team tightened up its defense and finally regrouped late in the game for a comeback to win its WNIT First Round game over visiting UC Santa Barbara 67-64 on Thursday night at the Galen Center. The Trojans got into an 11-point hole in the second half before climbing out of it and taking the lead for good in the final 6:20 of action. The victory improves USC to 20-12 overall and puts the Trojans on a path to the WNIT Second Round for a 2 p.m. game at Nevada on Sunday (March 20) in Reno.

Allen Riley went 3-for-5 with two doubles and three RBI as the Pacific Tigers completed a doubleheader sweep with the 7-2 victory over the USC Trojans at Dedeaux Field. Chris Larsen earned his first save on the year with three scoreless innings in relief for the Tigers, who defeated the Trojans by a 10-9 score earlier in the first game of the doubleheader.

Pacific improved to 5-12 overall while USC fell to 8-12.
