Another star-studded NFTC Tournament in the books, and even more USC targets on the board for some sensational play against the areas top competition leading up to the much-anticipated Nike The Opening.
During this past weekend's session, Kahlil McKenzie (De La Salle) the No. 48 overall prospect in 2015 according to 247sports.com, stood out among the talented defensive line class. Kahlil, the son of Oakland Raiders General Manager Reggie McKenzie, went through a promising USC Junior Day and recruiting experts say USC, Tennesee, Arizona, Oklahoma and Wisconsin are among his top collegiate choices.
NFTC Recruiting Note From SB Nation Analyst Wescott Eberts
From Concord (Calif.) De La Salle, the 330-pound McKenzie was dominant throughout the event with his pure strength, much of it generated from his massively strong lower body. And despite weighing in at 330 pounds, McKenzie wasn't carrying any bad weight -- he looks exactly like a defensive tackle should look. At times, it just didn't look fair to ask other prospects to go against him in the one-on-one drills:
In terms of pure strength from DTs I've seen at two trips to The Opening + this spring, Kahlil McKenzie and A'Shawn Robinson rank at top.— Wescott Eberts (@SBN_Wescott) May 18, 2014

USC has commitments from three top-50 recruits (Chuma Edoga, Ricky Town and Jacob Daniel) and also have solid footing with McKenzie along with local top-50 prospects Iman Marshall (5-star CB, Long Beach Poly), Rasheem Green (5-star DT, Junipero Serra), Keisean Lucier-South (5-star DL Orange Lutheran) and John Houston (5-star OLB, Junipero Serra), which means these next few months should be very exciting.
