Andy Enfield Lands Four-Star Recruit Chimezie Metu

USC's 2015 Recruiting Class got its first four-star commitment.

While the Trojans are still one player short from completing this season's recruiting class, USC continues to add depth in the 2015 recruiting front with the addition of four-star PF Chimezie Metu (Lawndale, CA).

Metu, who currently ranks as the No. 46 prospect for 2015 according to Rivals.com, solves a much-needed position of need on USC's front court which is extremely guard heavy not only on the current roster, but also the inexperienced recruiting featuring raw prospects Jabari Craig and Malik Price-Martin coming to Southern California this fall.

His parents were born in Nigeria and then raised Chimezie in Los Angeles as an outstanding AAU Prospect attending nearby Lawndale High School. The talented power forward chose USC over fellow Pac-12 programs ASU, Arizona and Cal along with 2013 NCAA Tournament Third Round participants Creighton and Harvard.

As you can tell by these highlights, the 6-foot-9 Metu loves to get up and down the court utilizing his somewhat freakish athleticism and long wingspan to finish strong at the rim while also blocking shots over on the defensive end of the floor.

The back and forth recruiting battle for prospects in the local area continues to surface between Enfield and UCLA's Steve Alford. But for now, the Trojans landed the first major chopping block from next year's class that is just beginning to heat up as we head into the major summer camps and AAU tournaments when recruiting kicks into gear.

In terms of the top prospects heading into 2015, some good battles should take place over four-star shooting guard Stephen Thompson Jr. (Bishop Montgomery), four-star shooting guard Rex Pflueger (Mater Dei), the brother of current Trojan Devon Pflueger, and 6-foot-9 four-star center Chance Comache (View Park Prep, Los Angeles).

USC has won the first battle in Andy Enfield's first full year of recruiting but knowing the landscape of collegiate basketball recruiting, the Trojans and Bruins will be back it again for weeks to come over top prospects in the upcoming recruiting class.
