Max Browne is the answer to getting the Trojan football program back onto national supremacy. The size, poise, and the mechanics that Browne possesses make coaches drool. Browne is a proven winner, as he lead his Skyline High School team to a 14-0 record finishing off with a Class 4a state championship. Oh, by the way, Browne ran the spread at Skyline, a system that Coach Sark wants to implement into the offense. With a redshirt year under his belt, he is acclimated to the grind of a season and knows what to expect.
Although Cody Kessler did a fine job in 2013 dealing with an injury-plagued roster, his inconsistent play made it tough to watch the offense, especially against Washington State and Notre Dame. However, Kessler did end the 2013 season with a bang, earning MVP honors against Fresno State at the Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl.
Now let's be honest, Jalen Greene is in the race of an "open" competition for the starting quarterback position; however, the battle is between two players, Max Browne and Cody Kessler.
With Coach Sark at the helm and some impressive quarterbacks on his resume, the new Trojan offense will be reminiscent of the glory days.
Prediction: Max Browne takes the starting spot and flourishes in the new offense making him a dark horse for the Heisman trophy.
