USC alumna Rebecca Soni continues to prove she is the best breaststroke swimmer in the world. Today, she set a new world record in the 200m breaststroke with a time in the semifinals of 2:20.00! She beat the previous record by twelve hundredths of a second.
Soni has already won a silver medal at these Olympics in the 100m breast, repeating her performance in Beijing. Tomorrow she will attempt to repeat again in the finals of the 200m breaststroke, an event in which she has won an Olympic gold medal, a world title, and as a Trojan, an unprecedented four consecutive NCAA individual titles. The final will stream on NBC and BBC's online streams at approximately 11:40 AM PT, and will be on TV on NBC's primetime block.
Good luck, Rebecca!
FIGHT ON!
