1st seed and undeafeated Steven Johnson went about business as usual with a 6-2, 6-3 win over #31 Roy Kalmanovich of Illinois, just another day at the office. #25 Ray Sarmiento took matters in his hands with a 6-1, 6-1 win against #120 Nick Sayer of Radford. #21 Daniel Nguyen had a tough match against #44 Charlie Jones of VANDERBILT, 6-0, 3-6, 6-3, Emilio Gomez beat Nikola Bubnic, USD 6-4, 6-4. Last nights hero Yannick Hanfmann was the only casualty losing to Louis Cant 6-4, 6-4 of Mississippi, after playing till 12:30 in the morning. Nice effort on a guy that didn't get much sleep as did the rest of the trojans, at least they all got adjusted start times.

On the women's side Zoe Scandalis won in a tough 3 setter against Lucia Batta of UNLV, 6-7(1), 6-4, 6-2 and Danielle Lao beat #46 Keri Wong of CLEMSON, 6-3, 6-1. The only other player Sabrina Santamaria upset 7th ranked Chelsey Gullickson the eight seed of GEORGIA, 6-3, 6-2, great win. Nice to see seven of eight Trojans advance to the second round of the Ncaa singles champioships.
