Women's Water Polo finishes 3rd in MPSF

The USC Women's Water Polo team finished the regular season with a crushing win over Cal St. Bakersfield, winning by a score of 23-5. 13 different players scored for USC in that game, including five by sophomore Kaleigh Gilchrist and three by junior Constance Hiller. Senior goalie Morgan Vickers made eight saves. The Women of Troy finish the season with a record of 19-4 (5-2), good for a third place finish in the MPSF standings. They look ahead to the conference tournament at Stanford, where they will go against San Jose State in the first round on Friday. One player that wasn't in the pool this week was sophomore goalie Flora Bolonyai, who helped the Hungarian national team qualify this weekend for the 2012 Olympics. She will join Russian utility player Sofia Konoukh '03 as USC representatives in the Olympic tournament. The USA WWP team will be announced this week, and USC alums Tumua Anae, Kami Craig, and Lauren Wenger are all potential candidates.
