THe trojan men just keep bouncing alone with a victory over #10 Florida at Marks Stadium. After taking the Doubles with wins at all positions and only giving up a total of 6 games in three matches, the trojans finished off the Gators taking 5 of 6 singles matches.
Senior Steve Johnson's 6-1, 6-2 win over #61 Bob Van Overbeek started the singles barrage off with wins at 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6 with the only loss at the hands of Emilo Gomez to Gator Spencer Newman 6-2, 6-3. USCs Roberto Quiroz took the next match with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Billy Federhof at #6, then the clinching match was Yannick Hanfmann at #5 singles were the German sensation won 7-5, 6-2 over Florent Diep to go up 4-0.
Rounding out the match were Ray Sarmiento and Daniel Nguyen getting three set matches with tie breakers played for the last sets, Ray had a 6-2, 6-7, 1-0 (10-5) over #57 Tripper Carlton and Dan's 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-2) win against #56 Nassim Slilam. Quite a international line-up for the Gators with Diep and Slilam from France.
