Lee Drops to No. 5 in Latest Poll

Texas A&M freshman quarterback Johnny Manziel occupies the top spot in the latest Heisman Pundit/CBSSports.com Heisman Straw Poll after Kansas State fell to Baylor, 52-24.

"He beat the No. 1 team in the FBS and the No. 3 team in the FCS in consecutive weeks," said one voter. "What's next, the Cowboys?"

If Manziel hangs on, he'd be the first freshman to win the Heisman in the 78-year history of the award. All votes are due by Dec. 3.

Wildcats quarterback Collin Klein dropped to No. 3, while Notre Dame lineback Manti Te'o moved up to the No. 2 spot.

Marqise Lee fell two spots to No. 5, after USC stumbled on the road against UCLA, 38-28. Lee finished with nine receptions for 158 yards and a score, his fifth straight game of at least 100 receiving yards, and the eighth time this year.

This season, the sophomore wide receiver has 107 receptions for 1,605 yards and 14 touchdowns.

What hurts his chances more than anything, though, is the Trojans are no longer in the hunt for any BCS game.

Lee Remains at No. 3 in Latest Heisman Poll

Marqise Lee nabbed another 10 receptions for 161 receiving yards (227 all-purpose yards) and a touchdown against Arizona State, but remains at No. 3 in the latest Heisman Pundit/CBSSports.com Straw Poll.

Despite suffering from an allergic reaction 45 minutes before the game that cause his face to swell up, Lee turned in an 80-yard touchdown pass from Matt Barkley, along with this nifty reverse.

After the game, Barkley was quick to praise his sophomore wideout's Heisman candidacy.

"He’s every bit deserving," Barkley said. "He’s the best player at his position. He’s done some tremendous things this year with the ball, as a receiver and as a kick returner. We’ll see how this pans out over the next couple of weeks, but he deserves to be in the conversation."

Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein remains at the top of the poll, while Texas A&M's Johnny Manziel jumped from No. 7 to No. 2 after leading the Aggies to a 29-24 upset of then-No. 1 Alabama on the road.

Heisman Campaign Begins For Marqise Lee

Lee nabbed another 12 receptions for 157 yards and two touchdowns, and finished with 408 all-purpose yards (251 more on kickoff returns) in USC's 62-51 loss against Oregon.

He still stands at No. 3 in the HeismanPundit/CBSSports.com Straw Poll, behind Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein and Oregon tailback Kenjon Barner.

Now, though, USC Athletics is touting the second-year wide receiver as a Heisman candidate with this highlight video.

"I didn't have anything to do with the production of the video," coach Lane Kiffin said. "But I think it would be hard to argue that he's not playing as well as anybody in America, the dynamic plays that he makes."

Currently, Lee leads the nation in all-purpose yards and receptions, ranks second in receiving yards and third in touchdowns.
