USC 38 - Utah 28

Russ Isabella-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

After falling 14-0 in the first three minutes USC gets it together to beat Utah.

You know how a lot of people say a tale of two halves?

This was more like a tale of the first three minutes and the rest of the game. Now that is not to say that USC steamrolled Utah. There were some frustrating moments in the first half. I am not sure who possessed Khaled Holmes in those first two series, but that demon was exorcised and Holmes had a great game.

Lane Kiffin continues to perplex many with the play calling, but I guess you take the good with the bad.

Then USC went scoreless in the third quarter.

Two missed Hedari FG's, and everyone is scratching their heads.

Then Barkley hit Marqise Lee on an 84-yard TD and Nickell Robey had a pick-6.

Game over...

The defense for the most part did their thing...that pass that Kevon Seymour got burned on was bollocks, but the defense stiffened up and made it tough on Utah all night.

Not the prettiest win. Lots of bad penalties and some sloppy play...looking at you Mr. Grimble.

So, USC slays the Thursday night game this year.

Next up...The Huskies.

FIGHT ON!
